Emmys Gift Bag Review

The Pen for a Lifetime

When I heard that the Inka Titanium pen was going to be in a gift bag at one of the Academy's official Emmy events this past week, I couldn't help but think of that Seinfeld episode when Jerry's father's friend gave Jerry a pen that can write upside down and that he claimed even astronauts used. So of course I had to try this amazing Inka Titanium pen and put it through its paces to see how it would hold up.

The Inka pen is designed to write, wet or dry, from any angle, at any temperature and at any altitude. Well, I didn't have any rock climbing excursions this week nor was I going sailing and I didn't even head to the valley where the temps were close to 100. So that left me with using the pen like a normal person would (I felt like a person who gets a Land Rover and never goes off-roading) and I am pleased to report this nifty pen was so handy to have around.

InkakeychainNow I know this pen will come in handy for celebs who need to sign an autograph while vacationing on the beach or writing their phone numbers down to slip to a fan, but I really found this pen helpful. I attached it to a keychain in my purse and when I went from swag event to swag event, instead of fumbling in my purse for a pen, I had it right there, ready to go. And considering I was taking notes on scrap paper, often as I balanced it on odd shaped products and on people's backs, the pen never failed to stop pumping the ink. I think that's where the pressurized ink cartidge comes in.

The best part of the experience is when I discovered that the Inka Titanium also has a stylus tip for my Palm-enabled phone. I lost my stylus months ago and hidden in this pen is a handy dandy PDA stylus that helped me both search for items and take some notes on my LCD screen. Honestly amazing.

InkadiveAlthough I found my swagging adventures in Beverly Hills to be strenuous this week, I don't quite think that's quite what the makers of the Inka Titanium had in mind. You think they made the barrel out of solid aerospace-grade Titanium so that if I dropped it, Paris Hilton's heels wouldn't crush it? I don't think that was on the top of the list. But even though I don't have any extreme trips planned I trust that this lightweight and sturdy pen will not let anyone down as they climb Kilimanjaro or scuba diving in the Maldives.
