Across the Atlas Tour Carries Inka Pens on Alaskan Adventure
Posted on Aug 1, 2006

In August of 2006, 4 adventurers will make an exciting, physically-demanding journey to one of the most remote places on Earth - a place to where only about 100 people per year travel. Since Earth was formed, it is likely that no more than 5,000 people have ever seen this area.

The goal of the trip is to explore this remote area of Alaska by inflatable canoes on a wild river, and by trekking, climbing, and skiing a variety of Alaskan mountains, experience the wildlife, and travel to the Arctic Sea. Proceeds will benefit the Colorado Cancer Foundation.

The team plans to donate over $10,000 to the Colorado Cancer Foundation. The Colorado Cancer Foundation was founded by family and friends wanting to join the fight against cancer in a personal way. Today, the Foundation is a growing organization that supports cancer research, education and patients and their families. The Colorado Cancer Foundation interacts with Colorado communities to assist cancer patients that need assistance in the state of Colorado (or who are seeking care in Colorado) and with the Colorado Health and Services Center, Division of Medical Oncology, in Denver, Colorado.

Team Across the Atlas had announced the partnership with REI for a national tour in the States featuring the Alaska trip. The tour will begin in January of 2007 and will continue until mid-April. They will present in 15 stores in the major cities around the country.

The crew also filmed about 20 hours of video. They are estimating that it will be broadcasted on TV in late 2007. Team Across the Atlas will have its own version, and they will show a 20 minute cut during the REI shows.
